Q4. Where Do I Get The Bedding (Carefresh)?
Hamsters like burrowing, therefore, 2-4 inches of bedding is okay. This keeps them warm. Cold temperatures are not good for your hamster.
An important note about Carefresh
- Carefresh natural is safe and healthy for your hamster, however, just to be safe 100% sure, when you get any Carefresh bag, freeze it for a day or two before use (of course inside the bag, you do not want it to get wet, after removing it from the freezer, you may warm it a little before placing it in the cage) or put it in direct sunlight. You can also shake it a little away from the cage just in case there is some dust. (How do you achieve this? When you get the new bag, cut it open and put the Carefresh in a large storage tote. Break it apart and run your hand through. This helps release any dust that may be present.) This is just an extra safety measure for those who are extra cautious.

She put chinchilla sand, but be careful and make sure it is not too fine or close to dust, it can be harmful to your hamster if breathed in plenty, also, it can cause eye problems. We do not recommend chinchilla sand, but there is one that might stand out, check before buying, it is in option d below; our recommendations are:
